Tonight, I have written this article in my closet just to share the necessary matters about the relationship between slaves (employees) and masters (employers) with regards to Biblical work ethics and standards that if we apply this into practice it will produces a just and fair workplace.

There are passages in the Bible with regards to business compromises or submission of employees and employers to one another. But, I just want to share a passage regarding this matter found in the book of Ephesians 6:5-9 as follows:

“5Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. 6Obey them not only to win their favor when their eyes is on you, but like slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your hear. 7Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men, 8because you know that the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free.

9And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him.”

We believers should be a testimony to others wherever we are not to be a perfect person because no one is perfect except Him but to be blameless in our every day living.

Our relationship with people is very important. We must guard and watch our attitude in the office one toward another as well as our outreach to the people God sends us to be a witness.

Be reminded in the Golden Rule: “Do to others as you would have them do to you.” (Luke 6:31)
