SMBs get a boost from Globe Business solutions

The unparalleled growth of small and medium businesses (SMBs) in the country plays a significant part in keeping the economy afloat. After all, SMBs usher in employment and job creation and also help inspire future Filipino entrepreneurs.

For SMBs to continue playing its role in economic growth, they need help in addressing the high cost of their operations. Many of these costs can be off-set or even reduced by the use of advanced telecoms solutions—as long as these solutions themselves are affordable.

Globe Business boosts the features of an SME‘s landline service through upgrades that cost only P99. The P99 Landline Tack-on service upgrades Globe landlines with several bundled features including: landline with postpaid mobile phone account; or a landline with Globe Business Broadband combo. These affordable Tack-on bundles are available to first time and existing Globe Business subscribers.

Such highly-advanced yet affordable telecoms solutions are what Globe Business has spent years in development: these are offers innovative products and services that go beyond the basic call and text messaging.  They are designed to make the business process more efficient, simpler, and more productive, at less cost.

Globe Business PayrollCloud

While a custom-designed, fully-computerized payroll system used by top corporations could cost hundreds of thousands of pesos, SMBs now have a way to avail of an equally-advanced payroll system for a fraction of the cost.

Globe Business offers quality, reliable, and affordable calling and texting services to SMEs through Business Flex and Business Plus solutions packages. These solutions provide customizable sets of services and features designed to meet the needs of SMEs at less cost–SMEs only pay for the services they actually need to help grow their business. Business Flex and Business Plus solutions also charge lower rates compared to regular mobile phone plans.

This is possible through Globe Business PayrollCloud, which provides a complete computerized payroll service—without the inconvenient, tedious, error-prone manual process.

The system is compliant with all Philippine payroll and government requirements so SMBs can do more than payroll computation- they can file remittances to PAGIBIG, SSS,GSIS and PhilHealth accurately and on time.

Globe Business PayrollCloud can keep costs down because the service is similar to that of a utility: for example, consumers only pay for the electricity they use in their homes—they are not the ones who invest in the entire power plant and power distribution infrastructure. Likewise, it is Globe Business that invests in and provides the computerized infrastructure, while SMBs pay only for the PayrollCloud service.

Globe Business PayrollCloud has affordable pricing plans to fit every entrepreneur’s budget. It is also customizable so business owners can choose what features they need. Since it is Cloud-based, entrepreneurs can access it anytime, anywhere as long as they have Internet connection.  To make it more convenient for SMBs, Globe Business PayrollCloud is already bundled with an Internet connection.

SMEs can now enjoy a premium Internet service that makes use of leased-line technology to provide always-on, high speed Internet access–thanks to Globe Business Direct Internet. This is ideal for those who rely on the Internet for their business growth. Web browsing is enhanced thanks to the high upload and download speed and guaranteed circuit availability.

These are just a few of the options available to SMBs that subscribe to Business Plus or Business Flex.

Business Plus and Business Flex offer lower call and text rates compared to other networks, letting SMBs make the most out of their phone calls. Furthermore, Globe Business provides a whole suite of roaming services- SMS and data (PowerRoam, Bridge VoiceSMS, BridgeDataRoad, BridgeDataRoam Unlimited Plus and BridgeDataRoam Unlimited), making them perfect for SMBs that conduct business overseas.

UK’s Pride in Biscuits is Well-Loved by Filipinos

Filipinos have a special affinity with the United Kingdom and all things British. Fish and chips, the late Princess Diana, world-renowned British royalties and entertainers like Elton John, Boy George, Sting, Adele and One Direction are some of the ”icons” from UK that many Filipinos love.

Perhaps it is time to add McVitie’s Digestive, UK’s pride in biscuits, to that list. Some Filipinos were first introduced to this treat whenever their relatives would come home for a vacation and bring packs of McVitie’s Digestive with them.  But this time, its pure biscuit goodness will be shared to more Filipinos now that it is available in the Philippine market.

Now what made McVitie’s Digestive a well-loved biscuit brand? Perhaps it is the “just right” sweet taste, which is good for coffee and tea, the English’s favorite beverage. Or probably because it is plain and simply delicious.

Credit, then, would most likely go to the passion for baking that father and son McVitie—William and Robert—demonstrated for the past 120 years as they turned a simple baking endeavor to become a major business empire.

It was in 1830 when Robert McVitie and his father William opened that provision shop whose basement was devoted entirely to baking. Pretty soon, Robert’s reputation as a baker grew and the name McVitie’s became synonymous with delicious baked goods. Because of this, Robert was soon able to open more shops.

By the 1880s, the business was already inherited by Robert McVitie Jr., Robert Sr.’s son, who partnered with Charles Price and together, had grown the baking business and made it a household name. An employee named Alexander Grant then developed the “Digestive” line back in 1892 where he came up with a secret recipe that is still used to this day.

Then known as McVitie & Price, the company gained further recognition when it received the royal seal of approval when they were asked to bake the wedding cake of Princess Mary of Teck and the Duke of York in 1893, who later inherited the throne and became Queen Mary and King George V. Thus, it became a tradition that McVitie & Price would create cakes for royal weddings and christenings.

In 1925, McVitie & Price made the first blending of chocolate and biscuit which is now called McVitie’s Chocolate Digestives. After the union of McVitie & Price and Macfarlane Lang to form United Biscuits, the company’s London Harlesden facility became the first biscuit factory to be fully automated in 1956.

Given its tasty attributes, McVitie’s Digestive is now more loved not just in the UK but also globally, where it is sold in more than 100 countries, which includes the Philippines. Now that it is available here, many Pinoy biscuit lovers will soon discover its uniquely delicious taste that is unrivaled in the market today.

If you want to know more about this UK and global biscuit favorite, or simply try out its distinctive taste, head off to any leading supermarket nationwide and grab a box of McVitie’s Digestive biscuits.
