Gone are the days when you had to make travel arrangements by physically transporting yourself to various places like bus and railway stations or travel agencies in order to book buses, trains, flights and hotel rooms. And, when you are done, you are almost ready to give up the ordeal and to unpack your luggage and stay put at home. Technological advancement has made all that passé.

Travellers around the world have taken to the use of technology in a big way. From bookings of various kinds to staying in touch with those who a traveller has left behind, it is all accomplished effortlessly these days.

79% of all the travellers communicate with their friends and relatives with the help of technologically advanced devices. Smartphones with their many apps are ubiquitous and so are laptops, internet, GPS etc. They very ably provide many avenues of communication.

Technology enables one to work from anywhere, be it on the flight, airport lounges or even one’s bathroom.  Before you start, spend some time to do a good research to dwell on the choices you are offered in WiFi connection facility in airports, hotel rooms, convention halls etc. Rig up a good data plan to include all the places of your visit within the country. If you are planning to travel abroad, contact the right authority within the country of visit or its representatives in your own country to put the plan in place.

Mobile devices and laptops will lose charge progressively. You do not want a dead phone on your hands, do you? Make sure you pack extra chargers in your suitcase. Never mind the fact that you can buy one wherever you are at the time.  An option available here is to leave your chargers at home and using USB ports to get your devices charged.

Electronic organizers are an ideal replacement for a secretary in your office. These marvels assist you in keeping to your schedules and organize umpteen other things like reminding you of the agenda that is to be gone into when you are in the middle of a discussion.

Acer launches 2013 Brand Campaign, Salutes the Modern Innovator

Last year, the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) organization made an experiment in two remote towns of Ethiopia, and the results were astounding. The group delivered boxes containing tablet computers, still sealed, to first-grade aged children who had never learned to read, without any instructions on what to do with them.

Within days, the children not only opened the boxes but also found the tablets’ power-on switch and were using the preloaded apps without guidance. Within a week, the children were using the machines to learn ABC songs, and within months, they were able to breach the desktop security settings programmed by OLPC.

Acer philippines recently introduced its three new smartphones with the theme “Let’s Play Together” and working around the idea of the world as one vast playground that people can explore to their heart’s content. The company launched the Liquid C1, E1 and Z2 models, which sport high speed and capacity, a rich gaming and A/V experience, navigation features, and a phone simulation function for the not-so-tech savvy individual.

“Our smartphones—one of which is a product of collaboration with Intel—are powered up to take your life with you, whenever and wherever you go,” Mr. Wong states.

Acer’s gadgets, indeed, empowers human creativity and productivity. Powerful computing is no longer confined to the desktop, although desktop PCs continue to offer innovative programming in conjunction with mobile gadgets, which occupy most of the time of students, young professionals and top-ranking business users.

Acer’s V5 notebooks, for instance, are powered by AMD’s advanced A8 and Radeon Graphics processors for smooth multitasking.
