Cast & Characters of Pulang Araw: A Filipino Story

GMA Integrated News has released the full cast of characters in new teaser trailer of Pulang Araw on July 09, 2024.

The lead or main cast & characters of Pulang Araw are Alden Richards as Eduardo Dela Cruz; Barbie Forteza as Adelina “Chinita” Dela Cruz; Sanya Lopez as Teresita “Morena” Borromeo; Dennis Trillo as Yuta Saito; and David Licauco as Hiroshi Tanaka.

Eduardo Dela Crus is a caring older brother of Adelina Dela Cruz and has feelings for Teresita. He opt to join the guerilla forces, not siding to Americans and the Japanese during the Japanese occupation in the country.

Adelina Dela Cruz is the younger sister of Eduardo Dela Cruz who hates the Americans, so she sides with the Japanese during the first breaks out of World War II.

Teresita Borromeo is older half-sister of Adelina who dreams to become a vaudeville star. Her parents are Carmela and Julio Borromeo, played by Angelu De Leon and Epy Quizon.

Hiroshi Tanaka is a son of Japanese immigrants and childhood friends of Adelina, Teresita, and Eduardo.

The main antagonist of the series is Col. Yuta Saitoh. He is a Japanese imperial army officer whose mission is to conquer the Philippines. He will have feelings for Teresita.

Other cast members include Rochelle Pangilinan as Amalia Dimalanta-Torres and Neil Ryan Sese as her husband Lauro Torres. The nun Manuela Apolonio played by Ashley Ortega.

Mikoy Morales and Aidan Veneracion will play guerilla members Tasyo and Mario. Tyro Dylusan will play Juan, a child who tags along with Eduardo as he fights the Japanese.

Julie Anne San Jose will have a special participation as Katy Dela Cruz, the queen of vaudeville. Derrick Monasterio, Isay Alvarez, Rabiya Mateo, Jackie Woo, Maria Ozawa, Billy Ray Gallon, Rhian Ramos will also have special roles in the series.

Sef Cadayona, Jay Arcilla, and Robert Seña are in the show of Pulang Araw, too.

Pulang Araw is written by Suzette Doctolero and directed by Dominic Zapata. Watch Pulang Araw from Mondays thru Fridays (8:00 p. m.) on GMA Prime and on Netflix for online streaming.
